What is Probate?
Probate is the administration of a deceased’s person’s assets. Most estates have to go through probate, whether you leave a will or not. A Will ensures the deceased’s estate passes to the right people.
Banks, Building Societies and Insurance Companies will often insist on seeing a Grant of Probate before they pay out and a house cannot be sold or transferred without a Grant.
Bereavement is often a difficult and emotional time.
If you are faced with having to deal with the bank manager or a faceless insurance company at a time of personal loss you may well find the whole situation complex and bewildering.
